A Tiring Week

Last Saturday, our school(Sekolah Kebangsaan Seri bintang Utara) had our 'Hari Keusahawanan'. Every class from Standard 4 to 6 had a stall to sell things. There were many varieties of food sold on that day. Our stall(6 Bestari) sold different types of food such as Mi Sedaap(which sold out REALLY FAST!), cheese tarts and spaghetti. We managed to sell all our food by 11 o' clock. We felt very happy and satisfied.

This year, our 'Hari Keusahawanan' was special because FAMA(Federal Agricultural and Marketing Authority) had joined us. There was a speech given about different types of herbs and plants which was full of information. The speech was given by Dr. Mohd Yazid Ithnin who also helped start a herb garden in our school.

On Monday night, I fell sick so I could not go to school for two days, which are Tuesday and Wednesday. Although I was sick, I still needed to do my homework so I dropped by school on both days just to get my homework. I feel much better now.

On Wednesday, my mother excitedly showed me a page on the newspaper of Berita Harian. The picture of a group of people from our school brought a smile on my face. Then, my smile widen when I saw myself in another picture, along with Puan Ng Bee Ling(my class teacher), Sarah Anati(my class moniter), Lye Meng Kit, Nikisya Toh(one of my best friends) and Sarah Amira. My mother let me keep that page for memories.

That is all I can say for now. I need to finish my Bahasa Malaysia homework. Bye!

Title : Holes In The Fence

Written by : Sheikh Hassan Seylan 'Abad
Illustrated by : Raihan Munif Bahasuan
Published by : Abad Ceria Enterprise

Synopsis

This story is about a boy who had a very bad temper. He does not have any friends. His family does not want to go near him. One day, he realised his mistake when his father acted as his servant. The boy wanted to change. Then, his father told him to hammer a nail into a fence whenever he felt angry. So, the boy did as he was told. Slowly, the boy hammered less nails into the fence each day. Finally, the day came when the boy hammered none into the fence. He felt happy that he had changed and not have a bad temper anymore.

The part I like the most is when the boy started to hammer the nails and it became less after a while. I like it because it shows that hammering the nails into the fence made the boy less bad-tempered.

The moral of this story is that we should behave and not hurt other people's feelings. We should act good towards other people, so that we will also be treated good too. This is a very interesting story. I like it very much.

March Holiday

Hi! I felt that this March holiday went really fast. It feel like the holiday just started yesterday. I enjoyed my holiday mostly with one of my best friends, Tay Jenn Lin.

It started on Monday. After our tuition, our mothers discussed a bit about me sleeping over at Jenn's house. It was supposed to be on Tuesday but somehow, they suddenly decided for me to go to Jenn's house after tuition! My mother and me RUSHED home to pack my clothes and other things. Then, we rushed to an apartment near our school(SKSBU) to meet up with Jenn and her mom. I hugged my mother(and brother) goodbye and joined Jenn in her car.

After 30 minutes, we reached her LOVELY house in Kinrara, Puchong. I slept over at her house from Monday until Wednesday. Most of the time we were either sleeping, eating or playing Sims on her LAPTOP(me). On Tuesday, we sacrificed two and a half hours to do our homework. We realised that doing homework with your friends especially when you are in your 'fun' mood will take a REALLY long time to complete. Me and Jenn finished very little homework although we took such a long time.

I will post some pictures of our time spent at Jenn's house :

This is where we slept, Jenn's room.

Me and Jenn like this picture.

This is the porch of Jenn's house. Wondering why there are two of me?

Jenn's outdoor toilet(complete with a rain shower) built by her AWESOME dad.

Jenn's house's garden. I like the fact that my camera can do things like this!

On Thursday evening, Jenn came over to my house. She has to sleepover at my house because on the next day(Friday), my church would be having an Amazing Race. It was really fun although we both could not be in the same group.

Yesterday, my mother, my brother and me went to Ampang Point mall to have our dinner and spend some time there. This is mostly because my mother felt pity for us because we weren't having much fun like my sister as she was enjoying herself at Stadium Bukit Jalil watching a live Korean band(Super Junior) preform. She went there with her two other friends.

That is all I will say for now. I have to sleep soon. Bye.

Title : The Caring Tree

Written by : Sheikh Hassan Seylan Abad
Illustrated by : Raihan Munif Bahasuan
Published by : Abad Ceria Enterprise

Synopsis

There are two characters in this story which is a tree and a boy. When the boy was young, he always played with the tree. As he grew older, the boy stopped playing with it. This made the tree feel sad and lonely.

The boy is an ungrateful boy. He only seeks for the tree when he needs help. The tree always offered the boy the best that he could give him. The boy however, did not give anything back in return. All the tree wants is for the boy to spend time with it.

There are a few morals in this story. Being grateful is one of the morals. The boy was never grateful in the story although the tree gave most of it's possessions. This book was written very well. It is a very interesting story.

Happy Chinese New Year!!!

Happy Chinese New Year I wish to you again! I hope you enjoyed your Chinese New Year holiday that you had last week. I am going to continue my previous blog.

I had done a lot of visiting on Chinese New Year. Too much that I have lost count. I became very tired from all that visiting. Although I am tired, I am very happy because I received a lot of ang pow/hong pow or also known as red packet.

On Wednesday, my mother decided to bring us to the Terengganu Palace(Istana Badariah) where my mother used to live at when she was young. We were only able to go in with the help of my aunt, who has a 'pass' to go in. My aunt has a 'pass' because she works for the ex-queen(I think that my aunt is SO lucky).

We went to the place that my mother lived, which is this small house. It might seem that her house would be grand, but no. My grandmother was poor and used to work in the palace last time. They had this really small house, with only one bedroom and toilet. It was nice to finally see the house with my own eyes after hearing all my mother's stories. It was very satisfying!

I am going to put in a few pictures:

This is a shot we took before we went to Istana Badariah. Let's just say that we are playing a fool.

This lion dance was held in one of my mother's friend's house.

I will put in the photos at Istana Badariah next time! I have to go now! Bye...

Happy Chinese New Year!

Happy Chinese New Year to you all! I hope you are having a WONDERFUL holiday.

Early this week, we standard 6's had an examination, Intervensi 2. I am happy that I got an A for BM Pemahaman because I am actually really bad at it. Although I had an A for BM Pemahaman, I had a B for Science, which is really frustrating. My mother told me that I should not only focus on BM but also focus on my Science. I will study harder next time!

After school on Friday(12th), my family and I travelled to Kuantan, Pahang and stayed at Swiss Garden Resort. We had fun at the seaside because the beach at Kuantan is really lovely. At night, we enjoyed the seafood at a restaurant. The price is very reasonable and the food can be described in just one word; DELICIOUS!

The next day(Saturday), we travelled to Kuala Terengganu to visit our relatives there. Before leaving Kuantan, we took our breakfast at this certain restaurant near our hotel. My family and I ordered a 'roti canai' each. My cousin, Carlyn who was following us back to Terengganu, ordered a 'murtabak' for herself. It was very big and Carlyn could not finish it, so I decided to take a bite because I have never eaten 'murtabak' before. It turned out with me finishing the leftover 'murtabak' because it was just too nice to resist. I will never forget how it tastes like. YUM!

Both my parents' families are in Terengganu, so we visited most of them. In the evening, everyone of my relatives(mother's side) went to Permai Inn Hotel to celebrate my grandmother's 90th birthday. My aunt had to book two LONG tables because there were too many relatives. While dining, there was this competition for three hampers(eldest father, eldest mother, table with most diners). One of my uncles won the 'eldest father' hamper. My grandmother won the 'eldest mother' hamper. And ofcourse the 'table with most diners' was also won by us.We had a lovely time.

Now I will end this post because I have nothing else to write. Today(Sunday) we will all got visiting people's home. Bye!
